We've added the category of "Transportation Alternatives" to our original six areas of focus for Fairlawn Green Action.
Objective statement
Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by encouraging people to USE ALTERNATIVE FORMS OF TRANSPORTATION such as walking, cycling, transit, car pooling and/or teleworking by providing (1) education, (2) options and (3) encouragement.
Status
Green tips are provided regularly on the web site and via email on issues of transportation. We encouraged alternative forms of transportation such as the Clean Air Commute and Cycling with a guided historic bike tour of the Fairlawn neighbourhood to get folks excited about the joy of cycling again, and to leave the car at home for short trips. We supported several Bike Clinics at Fairlawn.
